The seminar on how to increase the effectiveness of the EU development cooperation program took place in Baku. Representatives of civil societies and local authorities from 17 European Neighborhood countries, Yemen and Iraq participated in the meeting.
The Structured Dialogue is an initiative launched by the European Commission to discuss the involvement of civil society organizations and local authorities in EU development cooperation. The official launch of the Dialogue took place in March 2010 in Brussels. Consequently, four regional seminars were organized – one per region: Africa, Latin America, Asia and Neighborhood region. The final conference will be held in May 2011 under the EU Hungarian Presidency.
